Low participation among the younger generation is evident due to lack of interest and attractive activities at Pusat Internet. Hence, work-package 3 comprises modules on Co-designing with Children and Developing Local Content were developed to increase the list of attractive activities in Pusat Internet. This is to attract more community participation in Pusat Internet especially the younger generation.

The purpose of Developing Local Content & Knowledge Repository training is to introduce participant on the 4th Industrial Revolution and familiarized the participants to Sarawak Digital Economy where the trainer emphasize one of the important role of Pusat Internet is providing the necessary training and service related to digital requirement. Apart from that, the participants were also being introduced to Library in A Box; a technology which complement and support existing telecentre or rural area without connectivity. The Library in a Box offers a portable device which can be carried to any place, works as offline, require low cost budget where the users can build their own and lastly the technology can be replicated and make it scalable. Moreover, the Library in a Box is able to provide reading or reference material through electronic medium using Raspberry Pi as the hardware platform. In sum, the main objective of this training is to share with the participants on one of the innovative and cost-effective platforms and setting up of Liab, to assist them in developing attractive activities for their communities. The purpose is to assist the PI staffs in capturing communities’ intentions to visit Pusat Internet, particularly for the children.

The purpose of Co-Designing with Children training is to introduce participants on the use of technology to teach children within the community. Technology can help in engaging children in key ability such as curiosity, creativity, imagination, passion, and optimistic. Technology can be a tool for PI staff to introduce children in learning because it is more effective when used together-support interaction. Apart from that the participants were also being introduced to the guideline for the design thinking process which include empathise, define, ideate and test. Overall, the main objective of this training is to share with the participants one of the innovative and systematic approach for the innovative solution. The purpose is to assist the PI staffs in capturing communities’ intentions to visit Pusat Internet, particularly for the children.
