WorkPackage 1
The sustainability of Pusat Internet being one of the challenges faced in Malaysia can be improved by applying work-package 1 which was designed for institutional capacity building. The main objective of this work-package is to improve capacity development for Pusat Internet with the purpose of bridging the digital divide between the rural and urban. Several modules were constructed for institutional capacity building which include Social Entrepreneurship for Service Learning and Refresher Workshops (Reflection). Consequently, increasing the outreach of Pusat Internet and collaborations with different potential stakeholders.

The main purpose of this training is to provide a proper guideline in order to train the PI staff to become an important medium to engage with universities to work with their respective community through service learning programmes. Realizing the workloads of the PI staffs, this training intends to provide a proper guideline to guide the manager and assistant manager of Pusat Internet to play a role in engaging and bringing in external collaborator to work with the their respective Pusat Internet. This programme is in line with the Malaysia Ministry of Higher Education initiatives to implement a more holistic learning practices across universities and at the same time to build a win-win situation for all the stakeholders involved, including other stakeholders throughout Malaysia.

The First Year Annual Refresher workshop was to incorporate and revised both knowledge and techniques of the previous three trainings; Q1 Orientation Workshop, Q2 Digital Photography and Q3 Video Case Development with additional two programs such as Brochure design and Blog Design. All participants were exposed to the theoretical parts of the selected program for the quarter four trainings and they were given the opportunity to conduct hands-on activities for the development of practical skills.

A total of seven winners were awarded as “Best Project” in recognition of their excellence in implementing their project based on UNIMAS judging criteria
